This post marks the final instalment of my Staycation collaboration with the wonderful Chlobo Jewellery, and after experimenting with rose gold, long necklaces and statement pendants, I really wanted to go back to basics in a move true to my own, typical style. Showing that stackable jewellery doesn’t always have to be statement, I opted to mix and match the subtle stones of Labradorite and Grey Agate, all complimented by the sterling silver hardware. Of course, in true ChloBo style, each piece of jewellery has a special meaning. Labradorite is a calming and healing stone, whilst Grey Agate is a stone that balances energies and brings good fortune.
With jewellery and outfit sorted, I had to make the most of my final staycation themed post. And what is more typically British than Afternoon Tea? With boyfriend and brother in tow, we made our way back down to the waterfront (okay, it’s not the seaside, but it’s close enough, right?) to the boutique hotel The Salthouse Harbor for scones, cakes, sandwiches and everything else that is good in the world. One of the benefits of a staycation is that you get to spend time with your nearest and dearest, without necessarily disrupting work schedules (boring, I know, but true) and spending tonnes of cash.
Outfit wise, I FINALLY found a pair of let down/distressed hem jeans for petite girls. If you see the model wearing them, I’m obviously still shorter than most petite women going because they appear like they should be cropped, but on me, they’re just about the right length (which, believe me, is both a rarity and a blessing). I’ve rekindled my love for blue jeans really late in the season, given that I’ve been wearing my black Jamie jeans almost non-stop. I’ve been hoarding blue denim lately, so no doubt you’ll be seeing a lot of it over the coming months, both in skinny and straight leg form.
I paired the jeans with a black knit that I was recently sent by Lost Ink – if you haven’t heard of Lost Ink, go and check them out right now because their A/W16 stock is coming through and it is UNREAL. I was sent a preview of the new season pieces and I already have my eye on the most amazing faux fur detailed jacket, so trust me, it’s all good stuff. You can either have a peak at their website or browse through their stock on ASOS.
