Staycationing: The Hotel Edition

There are some hotels you stay in and use as a comfy base for your vacation, and there are some hotels that are the vacation – or staycation, should I say. London has some of the best hotels in the world, from trendy to luxury to the downright kooky. Last weekend I had the pleasure of staying in The Hoxton Hotel Shoreditch, and the room was so beautiful that when we checked in, instead of heading straight out to explore the vibrant neighbourhood that is Shoreditch, we relished relaxing in the room for a few hours. Feet up, TV on, cup of tea in hand – it was staycationing at it’s finest.

Once we finally mustered up energy to go for a wander, I tried to tow the line between smart and casual (when you don’t live in the big city, you want to make the most of it by dressing cute). These distressed skinny mom jeans have really made a big comeback in my wardrobe and I can’t get enough of the white and blue mix, so it’s no surprise that you see the two popping up again here. I actually grabbed this top whilst shopping with my best friend Jade, and I remember at the time saying, “I don’t need another white top. I have loads and I never wear them”, to which she replied, “All I ever seeing you wear is white tops???” Shockingly true and clearly, I don’t even know what I look like day to day. Send help.

As you guys know well enough by now, sterling silver is my go-to when it comes to jewellery. As much as I’ve been experimenting lately, it’s still my staple favourite and I love the cool-toned, clean aesthetic it can bring when finishing up a look. To compliment my fairly simple outfit I’ve stacked the bracelets high and mix and matched all of the different available charms. My personal favourite is the tassel, which distracts evil and negativity with it’s liquid like movement. I love the symbolism behind it – it’s ‘I’m not taking any bullshit today’ materialised.
