Pyjama shirts are my favourite trend of the season, and I’ve already racked up three different versions as the perfect addition to my (non-existent) date wear wardrobe. The only problem is is that they are always way too big. The sleeves are too long, the v-neck is too deep and the shoulders are too wide. This means making my way to the tailors and getting items fixed up, something I’ve as of yet forgotten to do.
One of the main problems I have with petite shopping is that proper trend items are rarely ever stocked – I’m talking pyjama shirts, glove shoes in a size 2 or flares for short legs. This means either resigning myself to the fact that it isn’t meant to be, or desperately trying to find pieces that kind of fit. Again, Dorothy Perkins Petite have come up trumps with not one, but two pyjama blouses (the second to be seen in my next DP Petite post!). This is probably my fave owing to the monochromatic palette and white flower detailing. Best of all – it fits! *choir sings*
You guys know that I’m hardly a stereotypically feminine dresser, and I always feel more at home in a pair of culottes than a skirt or a dress. As soon as the preview shot of these denim lovelies came along, I knew they were destined for my wardrobe. I’ve been wearing them non-stop since their arrival, combining them with a black western belt and simple black tee. They’re the perfect length, and also the right amount of width to skim over my big thighs without bringing any unwanted attention to my chunky stumps. I’ve been wearing them high waisted with tops tucked in, but you could definitely pair these up with a chunky knit jumper on colder days (I mean are we even really having a summer???) and boots because they’re so versatile.
