You're playing the sophisticate. The table is lined with candlesticks, linen runners strewn across and peppered with sprigs of eucalyptus, gypsophila and whatever else you could scramble together from M&S for under £15. Your friends are starting to arrive for the dinner party you've planned - 'friendsmas', as you refuse to call it - and beneath the surface of the polished exterior is the expectation that it's going to descend into debauchery.
Your outfit tells a similar story. Refined on top with a party on your feet, it's the perfect combination of pretty and party. Plus it makes you feel very mature to be hosting a dinner party wearing a full-length dress - you've come a long way since clip-in hair extensions and leggings as trousers.
Oh, and there's only one rule for guests: BYOB (bring your own booze). This isn't an all-inclusive stay, you know. Do I look like Sandals Jamaica?
P.S. Thank you to Jess for letting me use her beautiful home as a backdrop. Find her Insta here.
