Cyber Week: The List

Yep, it's that time again! As every year, I'll be updating this list once a day with all of the latest deals and discounts from across the web, covering Clothing, Jewellery, Home and Beauty.

Remember: don't buy what you don't need or won't be giving away this Christmas, and don't buy wrapping paper because most of it can't be recycled. In the spirit of shopping more consciously, here are a few things I'm considering when it comes to buying:

• Do I really need another one? Do I need to 'stock up'? Is it essential to update my collection of black t-shirts when I only wear them once or twice a week as it is? You catch my drift.
• Does it need to be ordered online? Or is there a physical store nearby I can visit to save on the packaging and travel footprint? It's not always possible but sometimes the allure of convenience makes us lazy.
• How much waste will come from whatever I'm buying, i.e. with empty beauty packaging? And is the product sustainably made i.e. alcohol ingredients, clothes materials, bed linens etc?
• What is the brand doing to be sustainable? Could I shop from an independent?
• And ultimately: is it essential? Shopping consciously is not only about trying to make better decisions when buying things, but also questioning whether you need to buy them at all. It's about trying to consume less and, for me at least, trying to invest more in experiences instead. People always prefer an excuse to get pissed or eat a shed load food anyway.
