Heard of Neck Co-Ords? #ThisIsNewLook

Neck Tie – New Look*

Tired of the traditional co-ord? Switch it up and opt for the neck co-ord. Never heard of it? That’s probably because I just made it up, but I’m sure it’s a thing. Why match your trousers with your top when you can get it all happening up top? This co-ord was actually an accident of sorts; I was browsing the New Look website and found this floral Bardot, and knowing that a Bardot loves nothing more than to be partnered with some fancy neckwear, I went scouting.
If you’re into scarves or bandanas or anything of the like, then New Look have you covered at the moment. There’s a huge selection and as the Bardot style is still going strong for summer, there couldn’t be a more perfect time to pick up some sassy neckwear. I love minimal, delicate jewellery, but I’ve been obsessed with layering up my neckwear lately. Popping a neck tie on and letting a simple necklace hang from below screams casual cool, when we all know that we spend the most time trying to look like we didn’t try.

As a girl who likes to keep her style simple, it’s obscene how obsessed with florals I am right now (and even dresses, but I’ll save that for another time). It’s unsurprising then that I couldn’t resist this matching neck tie (not actually a co-ord but the prints are nearly exactly the same). You can either wear it around your neck or in your hair – I’ve seen a lot of people plaiting scarves and neck ties into their hair, but honestly, if my hair gets straightened in the morning before work I’m lucky, let alone getting some intricate braid on the go. Nevertheless, co-ordinating your printed neck tie to a portion of your outfit offers a simple way to freshen up an otherwise simple look. It’s the little details that count!

And you all know I love jeans. When am I ever going to put a practical outfit together that doesn’t feature jeans? This pair are in the fit of the season – the straight leg – and come from the New Look Petite section so are perfect for my chunky stumps. The quality of the denim is surprisingly good for such an affordable piece, and I love the light wash of the denim. Top marks from me.

If you didn’t know, New Look have just launched a new section of their website called #ThisIsNewLook. It features tons of different looks from tons of different guys and gals, all styling New Look pieces and showing you how to wear them. Just make sure to use the hashtag when you upload to Insta, and you could not only be in with a chance of being featured, but also of winning £200! Bonus!
