OOTD | How To Layer Culottes

I feel like I haven’t posted a proper OOTD in donkey’s years! Late Jan/Feb was totally swallowed up by lingerie and nightwear posts for Valentine’s Day (infact, I still have one left to post) so it’s nice to finally get back to full outfits. If you don’t like lingerie posts, then apologies for the past month! 

I personally love culottes, but I know they can be a hit and miss item for many people. Being a petite girl it can be really tricky to get the styling of culottes right, but I think layering is one of the easiest ways to style them with success. Here I’ve popped my culottes under a midi cardigan and a belted camel coat, topped off with a simple white shirt and smart pointed shoes. Layering culottes up helps you play with lengths and add more dimension to your overall look – it also takes a little bit of attention away from the culottes themselves, which is good if you’re nervous about debuting them in your wardrobe. For another easy way to style them up, try a fitted turtleneck crop top and some killer ankle strap heels; the added height from the heel will prevent you from looking stumpy (welcome to my life), and the fitted top will help give some shape to the look.
