So if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you’ll know that a couple weekends ago I travelled down to London for the Nica Handbags #NicaInspires Insta-walk. What is an Insta-walk, I hear you ask? Well…
I met my number one gal Chloe from Tiger Lily Blog at Liverpool Street Station as I hopped off my train, and after bumping into about a thousand people as we talked and faffed around with Oyster Cards, we jumped straight on the tube to Notting Hill. We were legit blathering non-stop so 100% everybody on the tube hated us, not least because we were already talking about how sweaty we were (IT WAS SO HOT). We got to Notting Hill super early so we wandered around the streets for a little while, taking in the diverse range of people, shops, stalls and performers lining the pathways on that Saturday afternoon. Obviously we stopped off in All Saints to have a browse – a wishful one at that, because this bank account is not allowing for any leather jackets just yet (plus we’re both veggie so that ain’t happening anyway).
Eventually we made our way to the Farm Girl Café to meet up with the rest of the blogging gang, Nica Kim herself (the designer behind Nica Handbags) and the lovely PR team who made it all possible (shoutout to Ally who I harassed about her worldly travels to Russia and who is just sassy as fuck in general). We enjoyed a truly delish brunch, with myself opting for the Buckwheat Berry Pancakes (I’m not ashamed to say I have no idea what buckwheat is because I eat rich tea biscuits for breakfast) and an Elderflower bevvie (head on over to my Instagram to see it in all of its glory – www.instagram.com/chloeplumstead). Nica introduced us to the latest collection which is TO DIE FOR, and spoke a little bit about the bags and their amazing functionality and design.
Once we were all stuffed to the brim and had gushed over our gifted Nica Handbags, Nica herself led us on a walk around Notting Hill to all of the different places that inspire her and that she finds beautiful. From amazing architecture to artwork to vintage stores, we wandered through taking snaps and melting in the blistering heat (and btw where has this weather gone? It’s greyer outside than my white t-shirts that don’t get a designated white wash). I had an amazing day meeting some other beautiful bloggers (including Holly from www.rockonholly.com and co-founder of the AMAZING Rock on Ruby clothing, and the stunning Beth from www.bethnorton.co.uk), inhaling brunch and getting snap happy around the bloggers paradise that is Notting Hill. Everybody was beyond lovely, and fingers crossed I’ll be working with Nica again in the future!
