On-Trend and Super Flattering: The Scuba Bardot

If there’s one cut you need to get on-board with this S/S, it’s the off the shoulder/bardot cut. The best news? You can get your mitts on some super cheap options and no-one will be any the wiser. This little lovely comes courtesy of my faves at Boohoo (no surprises there), and I decided to amplify it’s structured scuba loveliness with simple black culottes and the mules I found for £1 in Primark many, many moons ago. Yes, I am the queen of bargain hunting.

Bardot pieces just scream sunshine, summertime and drinking wine in the park to me (I’m just living my authentic life guys). The off the shoulder cut is super flattering if you’ve got a little bit of a spare tyre like me, elongating your neck and showing off your décolletage which can even be wittingly emphasised with a little bit of highlighter manipulation. They’re also perfect for dressing up and down, which is the impossible in-between when it comes to finding a top to wear out for dinner. I love simple, monochromatic pieces like this Boohoo number, but softer fabrics with nautical stripes would look amazing with denim, not to mention the tropical prints that will carry you through your summer holidays.

If you want to take the trend further and expand your wardrobe beyond a staple top, the relaxed, off the shoulder dress is the way to go. Try and grab one with double layering detail and pair with simple black sliders and metal-rimmed sunglasses for minimal vibes that even Pinterest will be jealous off.
