Ever since I got my hair all chopped off back in December I’ve received lots of lovely comments from you guys telling me how much you like it, and asking me lots of questions about what I asked for at the hairdressers and how I’ve been styling it since. I posted on Insta this morning that I was thinking of pulling together a post dedicated to all things hair-related and a couple of you said you had appointments booked in the near future, so I wanted to get this posted ASAP just in case it’s of any use to any of you lovelies!
Colour
I get my hair cut and coloured at Ena Salon in Covent Garden. The lovely Evie colours my hair for me, and each time I’ve had a full head of highlights in my endless pursuit to be a proper blonde. Evie is sassy as fuck and we talk about everything from cats to boys to holidays, and it’s always nice to have a colour technician that you can swear in front of. First time around Evie put blonde throughout my hair and a darker colour at the roots to blend the line, and the second time we went all out and just did as much blonde as possible. I’m now suffering some severe root-age, so she’ll be seeing me again v. soon (haiiii girl). After the highlights I had toner applied all over to take out any brassiness, and to maintain this I use the Jerome Russell Bblonde Toner in Platinum.
Cut
When I decided to go for the chop I went to Ena armed with pics of my namesake and mega hun, Khloe Kardashian – if you Google ‘Khloe Kardashian Short Hair’ you’ll find a shitload of the pics I took with me. I asked my stylist Iveta (@iveta_london) for a blunt cut, with a little bit of soft layering around my face so that it wasn’t all one length. My hair has obviously grown since December, but originally the ends just brushed my collarbone for the perf ‘lob’ length. It’s also worth mentioning that Iveta is so fucking lovely and so funny as well, and she spent so much time making sure I was happy with how the cut was looking. Deff ask for her if you decide to go to Ena, and say hi for me!
Styling
99% of the time I’m a blow-dry and go kind of girl. Unless I’m shooting, doing something nice during the day (like drinking tea and being me true bougie self) or going on a night out to get shit-faced, I ain’t about sitting down and styling my hair for 30 mins. Evie and Iveta factored this in to my cut and colour – it needed to be low maintenance, but still capture that tousled, cool girl chic kind of look. My typical routine is to wash my hair, do my make-up and let my hair air dry as much as possible, pop some Lee Stafford serum in and then just give it a quick blast to finish it off. After this I’ll usually spray in some dry shampoo and Lee Stafford salt spray, give it a ruffle and go. However, if I have a little bit more time I either wave my hair using GHD’s, or use the Mark Hill Big and Bouncy Hot Air Styler to add some bounce and curl the ends under.
I hope this has been helpful guys! If you have any other questions or want more info about the products I use/my salon, tweet/insta DM me @chloeplumstead, comment below or pop me a quick email. Make sure you tag me in pictures if you do decide to go for the chop!
