Getting Ready Then vs. Getting Ready Now: The Girl’s Night Out

The process of getting ready for a girl’s night out has changed a lot since my late teens. My routine used to consist of finishing my Sainsbury’s till job at 5:30pm, grabbing a pizza from the chilled aisle, spending as little as possible on cheap spirits and mixers, and then…

Easy Peasy Blazers For When You Really Can’t Be Arsed

You wake up on time, you have your morning beverage, you drag yourself to the bathroom, brush your teeth, stare at yourself in the mirror and ask: 'what have I done to deserve this?' We've all had those days (although mine seem to have stretched out into a continuous number…

35 Under £15 Gifts That Aren’t Shit

Whether it's Secret Santa, something little or you're simply gifting on a budget, trying to find meaningful, unique and/or useful presents for under £15 can be tricky. Fear ye not, however, as I have waded through the masses of body gift sets, hot water bottle/slipper duos and completely useless novelty…

Here’s A Shout Out To The 20-Somethings Who Are Bad With Money

Expecting a hello, a please, and/or a thank you is not a lot to ask - it’s just common human decency. If you wouldn’t talk to your barista the way you’re about to talk to a person with 150k followers online, then don’t send the message. Don’t write that bitchy tweet. Don’t screenshot that Insta story with the intention of mocking it to your mate, only to accidentally send it to the blogger herself. This isn’t a ‘boooo, us poor bloggers, stop bullying us!’ type of rhetoric - this is a ‘just be a nice, normal human’ kind of rhetoric. Just don’t be a dick. From here on out, I’m not responding to messages that aren’t polite. And hey, if that makes me sound like an entitled bitch, then I guess I’ll wear the badge, but honestly, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a smiley face every now and then.

27 Pressies For The Awkward Men In Your Life

Gendered gift guides make me feel decidedly uncomfortable, mostly because I spend far too much time trying to position the title and product blurbs in a way that doesn't alienate anybody or reinforce any tired old stereotypes, whilst at the same time being clear that the items chosen have been…
